Shiro's story starts with his parents, one being a human and the other begin a demon. He was a demon out of touch with humanity, she was a sickly human out of time. She introduced a brand new world to her and they fell in love. Four children came out of the arrangement with Shiro being the very last to be born. The human woman enjoyed what little bit of life she had left with the family she built with the demon who loved her.

The ending of a tragic love story paved way for the beginning of Shiro's life.

Shiro had always been unlucky the moment he was born into this world. The first sign of his unluckiness was his near-death experience inside his own mother's womb, nearly choking on the umbilical cord during the birthing process. His mother wanted him to be named Shiro, like the color white, for the pale skin that he had. But on his birth certificate, his name used the kanji 四郎 meaning 'Fourth Son'. As a kid, Shiro would believe he was cursed because of this since the number four was a cursed number.

After his mother's death, Shiro's father didn't stick around either. He returned to Hell where he belonged, giving them the excuse that he was going to work overseas and letting them continue to think he was just some human. Shiro's oldest sister, Ichiko, had to step up and begin providing for her youngest siblings. She was always brave and he looked up to her, aspiring to be like her. The Fujioka Household was small but busy, all of the siblings doing whatever they could to make sure they stayed afloat. At a young age, Shiro even got a job to assist.

He...didn't do a good job at his many places of work. Mostly because he made a very easy target for more domineering personalities, often being pushed around by his bosses and co-workers. He tended to make a lot of mistakes considering his extreme amounts of unluckiness. The only reason no one ever fired him was because he often did the jobs that no one else wanted to do without even asking for a raise. While he didn't openly complain, Shiro much preferred spending his time crying in private and complaining to the air around him.

His life officially changed a few months after his 21st birthday. All of his siblings had gathered around for a big dinner for their mother's birthday. It was all smiles and laughs, everyone seemingly having a good time. Everything was good and then...it wasn't. In the blink of an eye, the house was filled with the blood of his siblings. The one that was responsible was a devil who had a vendetta against his father, revealing Shiro's true identity as a Cambion to him. Despite everything being taken away from him, Shiro wanted nothing more than to live without the power to make it happen. And then a voice called out to him inside his head, asking him to let him save him again. He let it happen.

A power emerged from him that severely injured the devil but it wasn't enough to defeat him. That was when a mysterious person came to his rescue and defeated the devil. She gave him a card with a phone number on it, telling him to contact the Golden House Foundation when he could. Shiro didn't do this for the first few months, instead choosing to spend his time mourning his siblings and trying to lead a normal life after everything. He thought he could do it, even with the company of the mysterious devil inside of his head known as Shiki. But once he realized just how much of the heavy lifting his other siblings had been doing for the bills, he went to The Golden House Foundation with nowhere else to go.

He was originally aiming for the position that his savior, Akira, worked in which was simply known as a Field Agent. But after failing the test spectacularly, he was regulated to the Janitorial Staff. It's a surprisingly dangerous job made for disposable individuals with the job to simply clean up any undesirables like open portals or low-level creatures of Hell. Every day is a fight for survival but at least the paycheck is good.

First and foremost, Shiro is a crybaby and a coward. He always has been. He has been pushed around for most of his life by individuals who never cared for him, the only ones who really liked him being his siblings. He's been told multiple times by others that he has a very passive aura to the point that it's annoying, that often being the reason that he's been pushed around for most of his life in the first place. It's even the reason why Shiki attached himself when he was first born. He tends to believe the best of people even when they are the worst of individuals. But he is also gullible because of this. He is also very oblivious about secrets being kept from him. For example, the fact that no one tells him that Akira is actually just a feminine-looking guy to make sure that he keeps fighting.

Shiro has never had a lot of faith in himself. Mostly because he was born unlucky. At first, it was because he thought his name was cursed. But it turns out that he was literally born unlucky due to the contract Shiki formed with him when he first came out of the womb. This has caused him to not have a very high opinion of himself. Shiro views himself as a burden for others around him. He even blames the death of his siblings on himself as well since they were the ones who died while he had the unfortunate pleasure of being alive. He tends to blame all bad things that happen in life on himself, even if he knows it's not directly his fault. He often hopes that it will make other people feel better knowing that they can be absolved of guilt.

Despite being a bit of an awkward individual who doesn't know how to socialize, Shiro does care about people. He doesn't want others to suffer as he has for most of his life which is why he doesn't mind being other people's punching bag. But his downfall is that he cares too much for people, to the point where he finds that he doesn't care about himself as much. He is earnest with his care for others, often willing to die for whoever shows even an ounce of kindness to him.

Shiro is a normal guy at the end of the day. He has interests in manga and views life through the lens of a side character living in a world full of heroes. He likes to eat cheap foods like ramen to save money, often being the most financially conscientious of his co-workers because of his low income. He is easily impressed by things that involve luxury or individuals that are rich themselves. He doesn't like to put a lot of effort into things, even his own job unless he knows that he is getting paid for something. Shiro is also a bit of a pervert. He likes to look at other people's chests and silently rate them. He often goes on rants about how amazing chests are and could rant all day on them. He gets along well with other guys who have his tastes and often goes out drinking with them (sneakily making sure that he isn't the one paying for the bill).

Despite being a crybaby and a coward, Shiro can be brave. Every day he marches into work to take care of the undesirables that the higher-ups don't feel like taking care of even though he has little to no combat experience. He doesn't even have an official weapon, instead choosing to use the company-issued broom that somehow hasn't broken due to his antics. He will protect those that he cares about with all of his being. Due to his devil's ability, he can get hurt and lose limbs but get healed. Still, he doesn't actually like being hurt. He'll run into battle with tears in his eyes but not regret his actions afterward.

Shiro tends to fall in love easily, like in his relationship with Akira. He had only known him for a short while but decided that he fell in love with him due to the fact that he saved his life. Like with his care for others, Shiro tends to love others earnestly as well. But he is always afraid of making the first move, often wishing to instead impress the person he likes with big accomplishments that would impress them. He dreams of having a big family one day to make up for the one that he currently lacks. For now, he likes to pseudo adopt others as his little or older siblings without their knowledge. When asked, if it ever came down to it, Shiro would forgive his father for leaving and welcome him back with open arms. He is a very forgiving soul like that.

DEVIL OF THE FOUR SEASONS ( 四季の悪魔 - Shiki no Akuma )
When he nearly died in his mother's womb, Shiki formed a contract with Shiro to save his life. With this contract formed, Shiki gives Shiro the basic ability of enhanced strength and durability along with the ability to heal from serious injuries. This ability is enhanced thanks to Shiro's natural Cambion nature. There are also four abilities that he has access to that are based on the four seasons. But with boons come banes and Shiro's bane is that he is extremely unlucky. Anything that can go wrong, could go wrong. There is also the fact that if he is beheaded, Shiki cannot heal him from that and he will be permanently dead. He requires a conduit for his powers to manifest which is in the form of Shiro's broom that he uses. The only way he can use his powers is when he cries while in a life-threatening situation.
